We seek a highly valued Revenues Team Manager for a public sector client in North London. This role is not just a job but a pivotal position that directly manages and develops a team of officers in our arrears team. Your experience in managing and supervising teams will be instrumental in ensuring the maximisation of local taxation collection. Your well-developed influencing skills will guide teams across the revenue service, making you an integral part of our operations.
Responsibility
Utilise knowledge, skills, and experience within a critical revenue area to maximise income growth while ensuring ethical practices are applied in recovering outstanding sums from residents.
Qualification – Essential
- GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- IRRV technician qualification or higher, or relevant experience with a solid willingness to undertake the qualification within 12 months of commencing the role.
- Management or supervisory qualification or equivalent experience.
- Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.
Essential - Skills, Abilities & Experience
- Proven track record of management or supervisory experience within a Revenue environment, demonstrating the ability to handle the role's responsibilities.
- Council Tax and NNDR Knowledge is essential.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of local taxation law and practice (particularly recovery).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on your initiative.
- Ability to work with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead, manage and coordinate a team to achieve service objectives.
- Proficient in the use of ICT, including Microsoft applications.
- Commitment to preventing, detecting, and deterring fraud.
- Commitment to the delivery of a customer-focused service.
- An accurate and systematic approach to work.
- Ability to cope with a high-volume, pressurised environment where customers are often under a high degree of personal and financial stress.
- A flexible approach to changes in procedures, processes, locations, and day-to-day office duties.
